JUNIOR PERFORMANCE 1

The Junior Performance 1 squad represents an advanced stage in the KUHSC performance pathway, supporting swimmers as they continue developing their skills, fitness and competitive performance at a higher level.

Swimmers in JP1 are expected to demonstrate strong technical ability, effective training habits and a commitment to regular attendance. Training sessions focus on refining stroke efficiency, developing endurance and helping swimmers understand key performance elements such as pacing, stroke count, stroke rate and training intensity. Swimmers are also expected to show strong lane discipline and the ability to train effectively within a structured programme.

The squad places a strong emphasis on developing racing ability, with swimmers competing regularly in club galas and competitions selected by the coaching team. Training also includes elements designed to support athletic development, including land training to build strength, stability and injury prevention.

Junior Performance 1 prepares swimmers for progression into the club’s elite squads as their ability, commitment and competitive achievements continue to develop.
