KUHSC Masters Shine at British Masters Championships in Aberdeen

Kingston upon Hull Swimming Club’s Masters swimmers delivered an outstanding set of performances at the British Masters Championships, held in Aberdeen from 12th–14th June 2026.

Flying the flag for KUHSC were Matt Rudd, Megan Jones and Colin Sage, who all represented the club with pride at one of the biggest Masters events in the swimming calendar.

With the Masters motto of “Fitness, Fun and Friendship” at the heart of the weekend, the team produced some fantastic swims, club records and even British records.

Matt Rudd, competing in the 50–54 age group, finished 5th in the 1500m Freestyle with a time of 21:55.54. His performances also saw him set new KUHSC Masters Long Course records in the 100m, 200m and 1500m Freestyle.

Megan Jones, swimming in the 25–29 age group, placed 8th in the 50m Breaststroke with a time of 39.89, also setting a new KUHSC Masters Long Course record.

There was further success for Colin Sage in the 90–94 age group, who produced a remarkable championship campaign. Colin claimed gold in all five of his events: 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke and 50m Backstroke. Every one of Colin’s swims set new KUHSC Masters records and British records.

Colin’s results were:

• 50m Freestyle – 46.46 – 1st

• 100m Freestyle – 1:56.97 – 1st

• 50m Breaststroke – 58.59 – 1st

• 100m Breaststroke – 2:23.23 – 1st

• 50m Backstroke – 57.15 – 1st
